- the right type of battery for your solar pV system
- the right size of battery for your energy requirements
- the best fit with your budget
INCREASE YOUR ENERGY INDEPENDENCE EVEN FURTHER
Congratulations. You’ve made the leap and taken charge of managing your own energy supply. But why stop there? You can enjoy even more cost savings using a solar battery storage system to capture any surplus electricity that is generated by your PV system. Any time that you need more energy than your panels are generating, the stored power can be released from your battery to provide the energy you need. Giving you even more control and further money saved.
Whether it’s a for a new solar pV system or an existing one, our experienced engineers can advise you on:
Benefits
SAVES YOU MONEY
• Capture excess energy produced during the day
• Lower energy bills and less reliance on the grid
• Use of solar power night and day

Benefits of solar Battery storage
EXTRA BENEFITS FOR BUSINESS
There are clear benefits for businesses to use battery storage as a cost cutting tool
• Stored energy can be purchased at off-peak times to power the business during the day
• Battery power can be used to power the business when tariffs are at their highest, reducing energy costs
• Set up as an interruptible power supply, the system can back up and shut down critical systems in the event of loss of power avoiding costly losses.

USE IT OR LOSE IT
Its unlikely that most houses will be able to make use of all the electricity that a solar PV system can generate. What doesn’t get used goes in to the national grid and is lost for ever. Large amounts of solar energy may be exported in this way. Solar panel owners then have to buy energy back from the grid to power their energy-hungry homes when the sun goes down. And energy imported from the grid tends to be a higher price than a home owner is paid for their exported energy.
With battery storage systems, any surplus solar electricity is captured and stored for when you need it. In that way far more home-made energy can be used to provide power whatever the requirement
Which means:
You can power your home when the sun isn’t shining
You get to use more of your home -made solar energy
You reduce the amount of energy you buy from the grid.
SUNSHINE IN YOUR CAR
Electric cars are here to stay and a battery storage system offers you the opportunity to make even more cost savings. Storing excess solar electricity in a battery during the day means that you have spare capacity to effortlessly charge your electric vehicle overnight. Simply plug it in and let the sunshine do its work.

Our High Fives
JTD Group Ltd
Thomas Radford
JTD supplied and fitted an array of solar panels with battery storage, and two new circuits in our home. Our experience with JTD’s work was very positive, and we highly recommend JTD for both solar and electrical works. We wanted to use a highly rated local firm, and JTD did not disappoint. They were professional throughout, from the initial contact to the system handover, working with us to design a 3.25kW solar system with 4.8kWh battery storage. Where other suppliers could only offer 10-14kWh battery systems, JTD respected our budget and sourced a modular battery system with a hybrid solar inverter (so we didn’t need to buy two or use double the space under the stairs), and they maximised the electricity generating area of our roof. They also fitted a new circuit to our new boiler, and a second sub-metered weatherproof commando socket to the front of the house for electric vehicle charging, rated so we can fit a 7kW charging point at a later date if needed. The wiring is configured to allow for potential future house extensions with minimal rework. Cable runs are neatly pinned, circuits clearly labelled, and trunking is tidy, whether they are plainly visible or not. Our primary communication with JTD was by email, and it’s a minor comment that the few days it would take them to respond to questions was slightly longer than we expected. They worked with suitable social distancing around the COVID-19 lockdown requirements, were flexible with the timeline of our roofers, and even let us have a copy the aerial photo they took at the end. We have had almost zero grid electricity since the system was turned on, and that is extremely satisfying!

I’m not normally compelled to write reviews, but JTD really do deserve a five star recommendation.
I did a lot of online research and then called around several solar companies for quotes before choosing JTD.
I wanted to find a competent solar installer and electrician who could source what I needed at a competitive price and take care of the installation for me.
Unfortunately it’s a very ‘salesy’ industry, and you have to listen to a lot of scripted sales spiel from most companies (and most of the ones I could find were office based and just outsource everything). But, after speaking to a number of ‘pushy’ solar sales guys, it was a relief when I spoke to Jack. He is a lovely, polite and professional chap who was more than happy to answer my numerous questions and provide honest advice.
Best of all is that you’re speaking to the guy who actually does the installs with extensive knowledge of the products and exactly how they work etc (not a sales guy sat in an office). It seemed like nothing was too much trouble, and Jack happily gave a lot of time to help me decide what system would work best for me.
I couldn’t believe the speed and professionalism of Jack and his team. I must add that his entire team was polite, professional and efficient. They are a credit to the company.
The install and the electrical work is very tidy and the system works brilliantly so far. Jack has provided all of the paperwork, warranties, building control notices, and submitted the necessary forms to the power company.
We opted for a 5kw array, with an inverter, 4.8kw battery, and a solar iBoost (to divert any unused energy into our water tank). We also asked for a back-up board, which allows us to draw on the panels in the event of a power cut (most on-grid systems don’t allow this).
JTD sourced the equipment and installed within seven days of me giving them the go-ahead (everything was installed and working within two days of them arriving on site).
Again, I would highly recommend this company. Keep up the good work Jack & JTD team.
Ps. My wife also said that Jack looks like Ant Middleton, which is an added bonus. But I don’t know what that means.

I looked around for solar quotes just before the FIT scheme ended and had several quotes. Meeting Jack from JTD was a breath of fresh air. He came to the property, took on board the problems and listened to what was wanted and suggested. Jack was able to quote for a range of systems with their various pros and cons. I’m very happy to have used JTD. They carried out the fitting of the system with total professionalism and care to the property without monkey around, swearing or shouting. A true class act! Thank you JTD!

We found Jack and his men to be great guys. Very friendly and professional and the price was competitive. We had 9 solar panels installed and an iboost which diverts excess solar energy to your hot water tank. We are now heating nearly all our hot water with solar energy, as well as generating all the electricity we need. The men also were very careful to take their boots off when going in and out and the whole installation was done and dusted in two days. Jack went to great lengths to explain everything and got us all signed up to receive payments for our surplus energy. Highly recommended!
